Hi, I’m Amanda

And I’m here to help simplify your life with diabetes, while also improving your relationship with food. 

I specialize in helping people with diabetes, eating disorders, and cardiometabolic conditions.

It can be so challenging to manage these conditions, and that’s why I’m passionate about making the process as easy and enjoyable as possible for you.

As a certified pump and continuous glucose monitor trainer, I have the expertise to guide you through every step of the process. I’ve been fortunate enough to speak on this topic both nationally and internationally, and I’m excited to bring that knowledge and experience to our sessions.

Before starting my own practice, I gained a wealth of experience working in diabetes at Columbia University in New York and Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. You can learn more about my approach here.

Do you take insurance?

I am in network with Cigna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Emblem Health/GHI, Aetna and Medicare.

What is weight-inclusive care?

Weight inclusivity rejects the assumption that the size of our bodies determines our health. In our sessions, we will focus on health-promoting behaviors as well as incorporating work on your relationship with food and your body. It doesn't mean that discussions about bodies and weight are off the table. Especially in diabetes care, we have a lot to unpack here. But in my work with clients over 20 years, I want to help you find something that feels sustainable and realistic, not temporary and restrictive. In fact, many clients arrive having been told or having a desire to lose weight. But my care is centered on behaviors not the scale or body size. If you are looking for nutrition counseling and plans that are focused on intentional weight loss, this is not a great fit for you.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

I do. Currently with the nature of life during the pandemic, my practice offers virtual sessions via a HIPAA compliant platform. You will receive a unique link prior to each session.

How often do we meet?

The first session is about an hour. We discuss goals, history (medical and nutrition) and go over other aspects of your lifestyle (sleep, movement, etc). The follow-up sessions and frequency will be discussed as we set up a plan/goals at the end of this session.
